Compassion Coalition Meetings

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
at Fellowship Church

8000 Middlebrook Pike
Lunch is provided ($3 for adults, $1 for children).

The Compassion Coalition sponsors public meetings designed to alert the Christian community and connect them to the “front-lines” of our city.  To date, over 120 congregations have attended the meetings from over 15 denominations.

Each meeting, a different social need or concern is discussed, analyzed, and acted upon in some manner. Meetings include lunch, live worship music or a brief devotional, and an hour of honest and thoughtful probing into the issue at hand.  The meetings are designed to educate the Body of Christ about community needs and resources while providing genuine opportunities to sign up and get involved.  They have proven to be an excellent means for networking. The executive director of Teen Challenge reports,
The monthly meetings provide us with information and personal contacts that can take years to develop in other ways.”

Moreover, the meetings are designed to encourage tired front-line workers (e.g., non-profit staff, ministry workers, teachers) while networking them to each other and to trained compassion ministry leaders from area churches. The executive director of Knoxville’s largest social service organization wrote, I have seen good, hardworking staff, frustrated and angry at the circumstances they face on a daily basis, energized and invigorated when they and the work they do are lifted up and valued at a Compassion Coalition meeting.”

We want you to see for yourself!  Learn about our community, feel the passion of the speakers, sense the presence of God, and join us on the long journey toward community transformation.  God has a place for you, your family, and your congregation alongside Him as He quietly goes about establishing His kingdom throughout greater Knoxville.
