Project: Teen Challenge Ladies Crisis Center

Teen Challenge of Knoxville has a desire to begin a ministry to the prostitutes.  We have been offering free Christian counseling in the Knoxville area since 1983.  We are renovating a building at 3127 Martin Luther King Blvd. so that we may begin a Ladies Crisis Center.  This center will take ladies who have drug and alcohol problems into the program quickly.  We will help them with applications, medical work, dental work, and the raising of funds to enter into a long term Teen Challenge program.  These programs last 12 to 15 months and concentrate on Christian discipleship and growth.  There is an 86% cure rate for those who graduate the program.

The renovation of the building and the opening of the ladies crisis center will allow us more ministry opportunities to the prostitutes.  As they reach out for help, we will have a place to house them and bring them to Jesus Christ.  We want to offer them more than words.  Jesus is their answer.

The pictures above show the gutted state of the inside of the building in the beginning. Right now, Brother Cavin (the project manager) is working hard with volunteers to complete the renovation project. They are currently in the process of sheet rocking.

We are excited about what the Lord is doing.  Many churches and individuals are coming together to make this vision a reality.  Please pray for finances, materials to be donated, workers safety, and for the project to be completed quickly.

Teams from churches are needed on Saturday mornings to finish this renovation project. Could your small group or Sunday school class give one Saturday a month for the next three months? Teen Challenge also welcomes individual help if you would like to join Brother Cavin  and the other volunteers onsite on Saturdays.
